Country Chic II

Creating a fresh, green space
This beautiful lean-to conservatory is an example of how a small addition to your home can transform your living space. Designed in pebble white, this conservatory seems to reflect the green around it, creating a bright and fresh space to relax.
The rustic wooden table and intricate lantern add a modern country style to the space, which would look equally at home in a city house. Plus, the brass door and window furniture adds the finishing rustic touch.
This design works because the space is filled with plants, creating an indoor garden. As a result, this style of conservatory is ideal for a city home – particularly if your outdoor space is limited – because you can start your garden in your conservatory and allow it to spread outside.
Positioning plants both inside and outside your house can help to create a country cottage garden feel in the heart of the city.
Bringing country style to the city
Above is a delightful kitchen orangery we designed for a young family in Lewisham, London. They wanted to extend their garden flat to create a light and bright space for their growing family.
The colourful kitchen table has a rustic charm, whereas the minimal, white design of the orangery adds a modern elegance.
With French doors opening out onto the garden, this space has the cosy charm of a country cottage, but with a city location and contemporary edge.
