Time Flies when….a review of the first half of 2019
5 July 2019
Earlier this week, we enjoyed our latest quarterly sales meeting here at David Salisbury, where we had a chance to catch up with our industry leading designer team. There was much to discuss and reflect on during what has been a hugely positive first half of the year, manufacturing and installing our award-winning orangeries and garden rooms.
Managing Director Wes Kangurs highlighted some of the notable achievements in his opening presentation to the meeting. The following article covers some of the key highlights, whilst also taking a moment to pick out some important marketing milestones, which included some stunning new orangery video and photography.
It is hard to believe we are already into the second half of 2019. In terms of sales numbers, we have enjoyed our best ever first Quarter, record sales on an annualised basis for several months in a row and our largest ever order has been broken not once but twice this year. This latter point has been one of particular satisfaction for the whole team, as it underlines our expertise in working with larger commercial projects – something that not only requires expert craftsmanship and project management but also a company with a very strong and stable financial base.
But it is not just sales that have hit the headlines. Whilst we have always had a focus on customer service, this year our service levels have improved further and we are proud to report even higher levels of customer referrals and recommendations.
Over the past 12 months or so, the company has been able to make in excess of £600,000 of new machinery and associated software updates, helping to ensure the David Salisbury Joinery factory continues to retain its lead at the very forefront of orangery and conservatory production here in the UK. We have also renewed much of our delivery fleet, now all displaying our new branding. The extremely robust financial position of the company means we will be investing even more into our factory and machinery and look forward to sharing details of this programme in due course.
From a marketing perspective, interest in our orangeries, oak garden rooms and timber windows remains at an historical high. Our team of sales designers are busy providing our nationwide complimentary home design service. We have built a strong following on Facebook and now have significantly more followers on this platform than any other manufacturer of quality timber orangeries and conservatories.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the sales meeting was hearing the level of detail and commitment that our designers go into when working on any project, but particularly so on an extension for a Listed Building. David Salisbury’s experience of successfully completing orangery extensions for Listed Buildings is without parallel and the knowledge base sat around the table this week served to underline that point.
After Wes and Marketing, it was the turn of the 3D drawing department to outline some of their latest work. From the quality of their colour rendered drawings to the outstanding creativity of their concept videos, we can very confidently claim that the quality of our 3D sales drawings lead the market by some distance.
Going into the second half of the year, we have much to look forward to, with a record Order Book, great financial results and a strong and stable team, from directors to sales designers, from manufacturing to customer service. We’ll keep you posted with our news via our weekly Blog posts and daily social media updates.
If, like many others, you’re choosing to improve your home rather than move for more space, then look no further than David Salisbury and our award-winning orangeries and garden rooms. We simply lead the quality end of the market.
