Happy New Year
4 January 2014
As often in the run up to Christmas, it has been a hectic period. It is always the busiest time of the year for us as everyone is focussed on what can be achieved by year end and our customers would like things finished, if possible, or at least tidied away for Christmas. The end of 2013 was no different, if anything it was even more challenging.
By contrast, returning now in the new year seems uncannily quiet in the factory as many people who worked so hard and deferred their holidays to achieve goals have taken time off at the beginning of January to recover. Fortunately, the rhythm of the business is such that while the first quarter is quieter in the factory, it is the busiest time of year for new enquiries and sales activity. This year again is no exception with enquiries coming through the web site jumping up as soon as Xmas was out of the way.
This new season is particularly exciting as we have the first issues of our new style of advertising appearing on the shelves. February editions of Homes & Gardens and House & Garden were in the shops at the weekend and I am very pleased with the new adverts designed for us by McCann Bristol. Gone is the Grey colour we have used for the past five years and in come a range of warmer colours, that better reflect the pleasure our customers get from using their new Kitchen Orangery or living area.
We have also commissioned a new website, which should have been live by now but hopefully will be within the next few weeks. Why is it that IT projects always take longer than expected?! In the meantime the grey has also disappeared from our existing site so you can already see the flavour of the new style.
