Perfect weather for video & photoshoots
16 May 2019
Every now and then the weather can be kind to us – and it certainly has been this week. Photographing our award-winning orangeries and garden rooms is always a hugely rewarding experience. More than anything, it is a privilege. It is a source of considerable pride to us that our customers usually allow us to photograph their homes and we consider ourselves very fortunate to work so many beautiful properties.
Indeed it is not just still photography that is an essential part of our marketing materials – video is becoming increasingly important for telling our brand story and bringing the very essence of our product to life. The above example featuring our Sales Director Karen Bell dispensing some expert design advice has proved particularly popular.
Video is especially appropriate for digital marketing and, in particular, some of the various social media channels. There are some quite astonishing statistics concerning video consumption currently around – for examples, viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video, compared to 10% when reading it in text (source: Insivia).
Earlier this week, we were lucky enough to experience the perfect weather to shoot both photography and video at one particular customer’s property. We’re currently editing the final images and video and will look forward to sharing these in due course – we will cue the big reveal in due course!
We commissioned an experienced aerial filming supplier, who had a number of different drones available to shoot what was a stunning example of one of our painted timber orangeries. The good weather made for perfect conditions for photography but was also important for the drone to operate, as they are not suited to working in the rain.
We are currently shortlisting a number of other painted orangeries and oak garden rooms for photography during the course of Spring and Summer, for advertising and marketing purposes. Of course, it goes without saying, that we treat the privacy and personal data of our customers very seriously so never divulge names or locations.
What we will be doing is ensuring we shoot video and traditional still photography with every project we select. After all, the latest data suggest social video content generates 12 times more engagement than text and images combined (source: Wordstream). With another selection of award-winning orangeries and conservatories to be filmed, we’ll look forward to inspiring you with more of our imagery.
All we need is the weather to be kind to us again!
