The whole experience was a delight from beginning to end. David Salisbury's employees were quietly efficient, amazingly tidy and the garden room was left absolutely immaculate and gleaming when they had finished. To say I am thrilled is an understatement.
This oak garden room project in Somerset is all about letting in natural light and has transformed what was previously an almost unused patio area outside this property.
The choice of natural oak – as opposed to our painted timber product – perfectly complements the surrounding environment whilst the full height windows and doors bring the garden closer to the indoors.
A pair of French Doors open out onto the re-modelled patio area and the garden itself, with some mature trees now creating a pleasant vista.
From an exterior perspective, the mansard roof design gives this garden room a distinctive but traditional look and feel. The solid tiled roof is a particular feature of a garden room style extension and, indeed, distinguishes it from an orangery or a conservatory. You can read more about the differences between each of these different types of extension via our recent Blog post.
A central roof lantern lets in further natural light throughout the door, whilst twin roof vents can be opened for additional ventilation.
Here at David Salisbury, we are equally used to working on larger projects as we are more compact designs like this one. The overriding principle is the same: to create designs that work in-keeping with the existing property and surrounding area. Just as importantly, we create rooms for enjoyment all year round.
The customer was certainly very satisfied and was kind enough to provide this online review: “The whole experience was a delight from beginning to end. David Salisbury's employees were quietly efficient, amazingly tidy and the garden room was left absolutely immaculate and gleaming when they had finished. To say I am thrilled is an understatement.”
Not sure we can top a testimonial like that!
