Proudly Part of British Manufacturing
29 September 2017
Much has been made in the economic and political news coverage of the past several years about the fact that we apparently "do not make anything anymore in this country."
As a proudly British manufacturing business, we’re happy to report that there’s plenty of scope to succeed in manufacturing in this country with the right blend of skills, technology and a dedicated team of employees.
Although the UK manufacturing sector's share of our economy (in terms of Gross Domestic Product) has steadily fallen since the 1960s, it still accounts for more 12% of our total economic output and is especially important in terms of our overseas trade.
Those manufacturers that have enjoyed success are usually well covered in the news media but a common theme emerges in terms of their investment, innovation and process improvement.
Here at David Salisbury, we are fully committed to continuing to produce what we believe are the finest quality joinery products available in the UK. From our market leading orangeries, oak extensions and conservatories to the volume timber windows and doors that our Commercial division is increasingly involved in.
Our commitment involves investment in the latest technology and machinery, so much so that we have world-class production facilities – something we invite prospective customers to come and see for them themselves. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing ensures every item is precision engineered and produced.
We’re also investing in our expert team, which we consider unrivalled within our industry in terms of their experience. Our recent appointment (and creation of a new role) of a new Manufacturing Manager, underlines this point whilst several other recent recruits are already adding value to the business.
The continual process improvements the company seeks are driven by our Board of Directors and David Salisbury himself, who’s tireless work and attention to detail ensures every project is produced to the exacting standards set down when the business first started over 30 years ago.
So we’re proud to be part of the British manufacturing sector and are happy to report whilst we are busy with our manufacturing based in Somerset in the South West, we are very much a national business with our team of sales designers covering the whole of the country.
