Watching the Rugby World Cup from your orangery?

18 October 2019

Will you be watching the Rugby World Cup this weekend from your orangery?

Whilst tomorrow's Brexit vote might be foremost in most peoples' minds(!), we're thinking positively about the quarter finals of the Rugby World Cup being played in Japan and the first knock-out matches of the tournament. With the weather forecast back here in the UK continuing to disappoint, we recommend a Saturday and Sunday morning spent in your orangery watching the rugby over an extended breakfast.

Autumn is most definitely here...

Whilst not everyone is a fan of sport, there is something about hosting a successful sporting event that can really help tie a country together. In the case of Japan, it has been recovering from the destruction brought about by the recent typhoon which hit the country last weekend. Undoubtedly, the outstanding displays of the Japanese rugby team in defeating both Ireland and Scotland, last weekend in the aftermath of the typhoon, have helped to lift the host nation.

The UK is some 8 hours behind Japan in terms of time difference, which means most games at the tournament are being played in the morning back here.

How inviting does this orangery interior look?

First up tomorrow is England v Australia, which kicks off at 8.15am. Owing to the earliness of the hour, the vast majority of us are having to watch this game at home (as opposed to going to the pub!). So if you’re planning to watch the rugby, where will you be watching?

How about in your orangery? One of the most popular design briefs we have undertaken in recent years here at David Salisbury, has been the addition of an orangery kitchen extension. Opening up the home to create more open plan living space, an orangery creates more room for a larger kitchen whilst adding significant value to your home.

Breakfast then head to your favourite sofa!

But it is not just a larger kitchen that is by-product of adding an orangery. From our perspective, it is all about creating extensions – whether an orangery, conservatory or oak garden room – that enhance our customers’ enjoyment of life.

So if you’re going to choose the ideal room at home to watch the rugby this weekend, we might be a little biased, but we think an orangery is the ideal location. Take a longer breakfast, put the coffee on and sit back on your favourite sofa with friends and family.

Whether you’re watching the rugby or planning something entirely different, enjoy your weekend…
