farmhouse orangery

Orangery with Somerset Views

This painted timber orangery helped transformed this Grade II listed farmhouse in the midst of the rolling Somerset countryside – for the owners and their black Labrador(!).

A carefully sympathetic design, which complements the host property and the surrounding farm buildings, this is the latest in a series of successful projects from Simon Phipps, one of David Salisbury’s most consistently top performing sales designers.

ORANGERY TO Enjoy THE GARDEN

Working closely with the local planning authorities and listed building officer, we were able to design, supply and fit the new orangery precisely to the customer’s brief.

The orangery has French Doors which open onto a newly re-formed patio area, with space for some garden furniture meaning a light lunch or an early evening drink looks all too appealing when the sun’s shining.

The garden now feels even closer to the home and with surroundings like these shown in the photos above, it is easy to see the motivation for this project.

A large rectangular overhead roof lantern brings in plenty of natural light which, along with the all-round windows and doors, means that ‘bringing in light’ is the one of the key features of this type of extension.

The new enhanced interior space has created a beautiful room for living and enjoying regardless of the time of the day. A dining table and 4 chairs can be used for breakfast, whilst a comfy sofa and some occasional chairs mean relaxation is on the cards. The feature lighting in this orangery underline the customer’s faultless taste in interiors.

As the customer noted in their very kind testimonial: “We recently completed on an Orangery from David Salisbury and have been absolutely delighted with the results. All the team were first class and even though we had the challenges of the winter weather was all completed on time and on budget.”

Thank you to all at David Salisbury for their outstanding service and we would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone considering an extension to their home.

We think the owner’s dog might provide a good review too!
