The renovation of a considerable Northamptonshire barn conversion, presented an opportunity to create a distinctive, characterful home, combining traditional architectural charm with contemporary luxury and exceptional craftsmanship.
As part of the wider renovation, David Salisbury was commissioned to design and install a luxury kitchen, alongside bespoke solid oak joinery for four additional rooms. From tailored living room media units to a fully fitted pantry, utility room and his-and-hers dressing room, every space was designed around the client’s individual requirements.
The result is a cohesive, carefully considered interior that showcases the versatility of bespoke oak cabinetry, with each room individually refined to fulfil a highly personal design brief.
Kitchen Designed Around Our Client
At the heart of this renovation project is a bespoke kitchen designed to complement the property’s character while meeting the practical demands of modern living.
David Salisbury’s experienced designer, Chris Rice-Munro, worked closely with the client to develop a kitchen design that balanced aesthetics, functionality and considered storage. Every detail was carefully reviewed and considered, ensuring the finished cabinetry felt perfectly suited to the home and the client’s lifestyle.
The use of distinctive solid oak cabinetry brings character and timeless appeal to the kitchen, creating a space that feels both luxurious and welcoming.
Designed as an integral part of the wider renovation, the bespoke kitchen provides a natural focal point for the home, equally suited to everyday family life and entertaining.
Bespoke Cabinetry Throughout The Home
To achieve a consistent design ethos throughout, David Salisbury extended its bespoke joinery expertise into four further rooms. Each area was individually designed to maximise its potential, combining tailored storage solutions with the quality and craftsmanship of solid oak.

Bespoke Living Room Media Units
The living room features bespoke cabinetry and shelving, designed to integrate different media, storage and display space within a cohesive scheme.
The solid oak joinery provides practical functionality while enhancing the character of the room, demonstrating how bespoke fitted furniture can complement both traditional architecture and contemporary living.

Fitted Pantry with Bespoke Wine Storage
The pantry was designed to maximise storage and organisation through generously proportioned fitted cabinetry.
Bespoke wine storage adds a further tailored element, ensuring the space meets the client’s specific requirements while creating an elegant and practical extension of the kitchen.

The Definition of a Utility Room
The utility room combines generous storage with considered design, whilst incorporating all of the typical appliances for modern living.
Bespoke cabinetry provides ample space for household essentials, helping to maintain an organised and functional environment while carrying the quality and visual consistency of the wider interior throughout the home.
Tailored Dressing Room Cabinetry
Completing the project, a bespoke dressing room was created with dedicated his-and-hers clothes storage.
Designed around the clients’ individual needs, the fitted cabinetry provides a tailored solution for clothing and personal belongings, bringing organisation, functionality and understated luxury to this private space.

Excellence in Design & Craftsmanship
The underlining feature of this project was the level of refinement required across all five rooms. Each space had its own practical considerations and design requirements, demanding a bespoke approach that went well beyond standard fitted furniture.
Through a collaborative design process, our designer Chris worked to understand the client’s priorities and translate them into carefully considered cabinetry. The result is a connected interior in which every room has its own identity while contributing to a harmonious whole.

The completed project is a testament to the enduring appeal of bespoke oak cabinetry and the value of thoughtful design, delivering a home that fulfils the client’s personal brief with precision, character and craftsmanship.
