Inspirational Orangery Interior Design Ideas

5 November 2021

It goes without saying that the interior of an orangery or conservatory is just as important as the exterior, when assessing the final outcome of any new such building extension.

Whilst every finished bespoke design will clearly be different, both inside and out, being able to see photography of completed orangeries and conservatories is perhaps the most inspirational resource that anyone considering this type of building can refer to.

With that in mind, from modern interiors to stylish kitchens, we have selected some of our favourite examples of orangery interior design or interior decorating to help inspire your thinking.

Creating Connectiveness: Inside & Out

Interior draws inspiration from the exterior

This beautifully complementary interior design scheme, expertly created by Bayswater Interiors, is the very essence of mixing indoors and out. Taking in the views of the garden, the interior of the orangery perfectly complements the exterior, creating a joined-up look, connecting home and garden.

Bold Accent Colours & Modern Furniture

Design combines style and function

This contemporary orangery design above is completed with a number of bespoke design features. The timber joinery includes a two-tone paint finish, mixing Graphite for the windows and doors with Slipper White for the roof lanterns. It is, however, the combination of modern furniture, in a couple of striking accent colours, that gives the interior of this orangery its finishing touches.

Contemporary Kitchen Designs

Making a bold statement in style

Designing orangeries to accommodate a kitchen extension remains perhaps the most popular type of project that we are commissioned to undertake. When rounded off with a bespoke kitchen from our partners at Tom Howley (shown above left), this ticks all of the boxes for modern living: a light and airy living space combined with the very best in kitchen design.

Or, for something equally stylish, how about this monochromatic design, above right, which makes a real statement with its black and white design features?

Emphasising the Beauty of Oak

Emphasising the beauty of natural oak

An increasing number of our customers are opting for the rustic beauty of an oak framed orangery or garden room. With such a naturally characterful material, why not make the oak itself part of the interior scheme? Choose furniture pieces and fabrics to complement the tone of the timber or perhaps a lighter palette to offset the character of the oak.

Comfort & Warmth

Finally, with the shorter days and dropping temperatures, we can’t think of anything better than lighting the fire and settling down on the sofa to take in the views of outside from the comfort of our home. Combining comfort and warmth with natural light, this living room orangery has created the perfect family room.

So that’s just a few of our favourite orangery interior design schemes to help inspire you – there’s plenty more inspirational designs, which you can see via our ever-popular Case Studies.
