The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25th May 2018.
As a result, we have published the following updates and additions to our Privacy Policy so that you can be clear on how we use your information and the steps we take to keep it secure.
We will be using your personal information in the same way we always have – to respond to your request for a brochure or quote or to send you a promotional e-mail or customer survey – but you can opt to decline receiving any such further communications at any time via the links further below.
Safely Managing Your Data
We remain as committed as ever to ensuring that your personal data is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have updated our physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect from you.
These practices are detailed in our ‘Data Protection Policy’ (DPP), which also sets out our company policy with regard to data retention in line with the principles of the GDPR. A copy of our Data Protection Policy is available via e-mailing marketing@davidsalisbury.com.
Alongside our DPP, we have an Information & Communications Technology (ICT) policy which sets out our use of these technologies and how your personal data might be processed by their use. A further requirement of the GDPR legislation is to have in place a policy for a ‘Data Breach.’ This forms an addendum to our ICT policy and can be requested via e-mailing marketing@davidsalisbury.com.
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
Controlling your personal information – Update
Under GDPR, you have the right to require us to delete or stop processing your data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing; as well as to object to the processing of your data where we are relying on our legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing.
