Happy New Year

As often in the run up to Christmas, it has been a hectic period. It is always the busiest time of the year for us as everyone is focussed on what can be achieved by year end and our customers would like things finished, if possible, or at least tidied away for Christmas. The end of 2013 was no different, if anything it was even more challenging.

The Future of The Conservatory

It’s been rather a long time since my last entry, during which I have been to Australia and back. Not that being in Australia is any excuse, as I was online virtually every day. Since my return, there has been a crazy pace of work – especially the preparation for next year’s marketing campaign.

Exciting Times

We have finally passed the previous peak of sales in 2007 with strong growth this year, giving us the confidence we need for further investment in the future. The current revival of the housing market and construction industry also provides us with additional reasons to believe that the growth will continue.

Domed Orangery Update

It is a few months since I reported on this project which is now very nearly complete. It features three domed roofs and full height sliding sash windows.

Breckenridge Administration

I was shocked but not surprised to hear this morning that Breckenridge Conservatories has entered an insolvency procedure and called a meeting of its creditors. This is the kind of company that gives our industry a bad name. It is less than than five years since an earlier incarnation of this company with the same ownership went down owing a lot of money, only to be reborn days later after a “pre-pack” administration.
