Christmas Draw

It’s that time again and it has now become a tradition to pool all the gifts that arrive into the company and hold a raffle for charity. We sell the raffle tickets at a £1 each the proceeds of which will be donated to CLIC. CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.

Storm Sandy

Our American partner “Parish Conservatories” to whom we have supplied dozens of conservatories over the past 7 years has been in the eye of the storm. They operate their business from a small industrial unit in Connecticut and the roof has been blown clean off.

Nothing To Worry About

In the end it was nothing to worry about. The “Explosive Device” was found to be “inactive” but not before the bomb squad has been called out. By 7:00pm the all clear was given, but by this time the night shift has been dispersed. It will now take us a few days to catch up the lost production time and the coming week’s deliveries will have to be reorganised.

Everyone Gets an Early Night

This afternoon we were surprised by 6 police cars arriving in the road outside and an instruction to clear a radius of 50 yards from a skip located on neighbouring premises. Apparently an “explosive device” had been discovered. This affected part of our car park but no great disruption otherwise. Five minutes later the exclusion radius became 100 yards and the circle cut through part of our factory.
