This Summer Is A Great Time To Visit Our Chelsea Showroom

18 August 2017

Situated in the heart of the Chelsea Gardener, the high-end shop for plants, garden equipment and outdoor furniture, the term ‘showroom’ is perhaps an understatement.
We have designed, constructed and installed 2 stunningly contrasting structures in the midst of this prestigious garden centre, at 125 Sydney Street, Chelsea.

The first is a traditional orangery with the centre piece being a domed lantern roof.  There are two additional, smaller rectangular lanterns, which add even more natural light to the interior.
Sitting inside this structure, with a view outside of all of the plants and foliage on display, this gives a real feel of what the original designers of the first orangeries, way back in the 17th century, must have looked to create.

Some of the outside features of this orangery are well worth highlighting, as they demonstrate the precision manufacturing that our factory in Highbridge, Somerset specialises in.  From the ornate pilasters at each side of the building to the decorative dentil fascia that surrounds it and full height sliding sash windows, this design is brought to life by the finer details – and it is rounded off with the beautifully contemporary Halycon Grey paint finish, from David Salisbury’s own colour palette.

If contemporary design is more to your taste, then visiting our modern garden room is a real treat.  This freestanding structure is all about the clean lines that one would associate with current design trends.  With floor to ceiling bi-fold doors, which open right out to provide a great feeling of inside and out - a particular benefit of a garden room - this striking building shows our bespoke design abilities can be extended to almost anything that involves quality timber windows, doors and glazed extensions.  The finishing touch is the infinity glass corner by Cantifix, which is a fascinating glazing feature and worth viewing alone.

We particularly like these images above which show the garden room during the day and then after dark.  Which one is your favourite?
It is also a good opportunity to showcase the work of Grants Blinds, our blinds supplier, who specialise in bespoke, quality designs, which perfectly complement our orangeries and garden rooms.

So if you would like to see more of our work, in the midst of the wonderful environment of the Chelsea Gardener, this Summer’s a great time to visit.  The garden centre is open 7 days a week and the relaxed atmosphere is well-suited to hosting our showroom space.  Our complimentary design service extends to every part of the country, but you can request a consultation in the comfort of our Chelsea showroom at a time to suit you.
