Here at David Salisbury, we obviously aim to stay across the current political and legislative landscape. Don't worry, we're not going to comment on Brexit, as we're pretty sure you will have read and heard enough already(!) - but we thought it worth running through the important change to Permitted Development Rights (PDR) coming next year.

Let There Be Light!

One of the most common requests customers talk to us about when considering a new orangery or conservatory is adding more natural light to their homes. With a lantern roof a feature of an orangery or a fully glazed roof more typical of a conservatory, whichever type of extension we design for you, the result is a light-filled room with great views.

Autumn might have been with us for a while now but the recent warmer daytime temperatures have held that feeling off for a bit longer. The trees are certainly starting to drop their leaves and the mornings are starting to feel fresher but the most obvious sign of the change in season has been the shorter daylight hours.

Is technology bringing us closer together?

There has been an on-going debate for some time now as to whether technology helps bring us closer together or not. Writing this post seems especially topical today, with the current debate about the use of mobile phones in schools, prompted by the start of the new academic year.

Clearly it helps us stay in closer contact with family and friends who might not be located nearby and the rise of social media has seen a number of tools and apps that have encouraged more of this type of communication.
