Beautiful Timber Windows from a WWA member

5 April 2019

Whilst we have been enjoying a record start to the year in terms of new orders for our award-winning orangeries and oak garden rooms, an important contributor to our sales growth has been orders for our timber windows.

Part of our strategy to market our timber windows has been joining the Wood Window Alliance (WWA). If you haven’t heard of the WWA, they are an ‘organisation that promotes and champions the beauty, efficiency and durability of wood window frames.’ WWA members set the benchmark for the industry, providing the reassurance of high quality, performance and sustainability standards – key benefits of sourcing new or replacement wooden windows from David Salisbury.

The WWA has conducted some really insightful marketing in the recent past about the virtues of a wooden window relative to a plastic or UPVC one, the content of which we have been sharing via our Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest channels. Their current focus, however, is not just on wood windows – but on the benefits of choosing wooden windows from a WWA member.

We’re really proud to be supporting their ‘Putting Timber Back in the Frame’ campaign. We’re a big fan of infographics as they really add to a story and held create more engaging and memorable content.

Value for money results from longer service life

Some of the following key reasons for choosing a wood window from a WWA member really resonate – so much so, we thought we would share some of them here.

If environmental considerations are important to you, take a look at the service life of a timber window and the fact that it is carbon negative over its lifecycle compared to a plastic alternative. Not only do wood windows look great, they are also kinder to the planet!

With an estimated service life twice that of the UPVC equivalent (according to research by Heriot Watt University), wood windows are also a better, more cost effective investment.
