“The garden room has been very much admired and we are so glad we had it done as it has transformed our lives. We would like to thank you for designing us our fabulous new extension.”
This characterful oak garden room project in Gloucestershire is yet another example of David Salisbury’s ability to design and install sympathetic extensions that will gain the necessary planning consents, whilst working in harmony with the surrounding area.
Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB), this property is additionally situated within a conservation area, bringing with it supplementary planning considerations. Choosing David Salisbury saw our customer benefit from our years of experience of successfully working with historical buildings of this nature.
Indeed, our longest-serving sales designer, Simon Martin, was the ideal choice for a considered design that was required to meet this brief.
Using a matching Cotswold stone, the new garden room extension looks like it has always been there, whilst our rustic oak joinery adds a timeless feel to this period setting. This twin gable design features a tiled roof which complements the existing building. A set of bi-fold doors provide quick and convenient access to the wonderful garden, which looks particularly inviting during Summer.
Moving inside, the new extension has created an open plan living area, with space for a breakfast/dining room, which features a beautifully panelled entrance to form a link back into the original part of house.
The central part of the ‘L’ shaped garden room is a similarly shaped kitchen extension, which opens out into the final part of the extension: a living room with natural light flooding in from the full height glazing at one end and a log burner as the focal point.
This multi-purpose living space has created a new favourite part of the home, that can be enjoyed all year round.
As our customer noted: “The garden room has been very much admired and we are so glad we had it done as it has transformed our lives. We would like to thank you for designing us our fabulous new extension.”
Now the only question remains…is there space on the sofa alongside Red, the rather satisfied looking Labrador(!!)?
