We always take great pleasure and satisfaction in designing and building a second orangery or conservatory for the same customer – whilst every project is unique by its very nature, the opportunity to fulfil a customer’s dreams and expectations on a further occasion is obviously hugely welcomed.
This garden room extension in Hertfordshire is no exception. The David Salisbury timber structure was added to brickwork and masonry to match the rest of the Grade II Listed Building. The result is a seamless addition to the customer’s home which works perfectly in harmony with its surroundings.
Providing valuable additional floor area, the new garden room connects with the existing kitchen to form a light and airy open plan dining space.
The stone flooring – for which a similar collection is now available via David Salisbury’s own flooring range – offsets the modern grey paint finish. There is now ample room for the large painted dining table, with accompanying bespoke dining chairs, ensuring this is a great place either for a relaxing family lunch or an evening entertaining guests.
A particular feature of this design is the tiled roof made from reclaimed slate, so as to remain in-keeping with the period property. The painted timber roof beams were also a notable hallmark and something we are being asked to incorporate into our designs in recent times. The timber vertical sliding sash windows, a David Salisbury design specialism, allow in plenty of natural light which also give multiple options for ventilation.
As the customer was pleased to note: “We engaged David Salisbury to build our garden room extension having worked with the company previously on an orangery project for our second home several years before. We continue to be thoroughly impressed with the quality of the product and are very pleased with the end result - we would have no hesitation in recommending David Salisbury to anyone wanting a beautiful timber extension for their home.”
High praise and exactly the type of reaction we like to leave with every customer, whether it’s a new garden room, orangery or conservatory. If you’re considering a similar project, start by requesting our inspirational brochure
