David Salisbury has invested heavily in machinery and technology over the last few years in the pursuit of achieving a truly world class manufacturing unit for their timber conservatories and orangeries. We believe we are now the market leader for our products and class leading in terms of productivity and efficiency. We have pushed joinery to the point where we now think of ourselves as "engineers in wood". This means that our customers will benefit from the best engineered timber products available in the UK. You are welcome (by arrangement) to come and see the scale of our operation and just how modern and forward thinking David Salisbury is as a company.
David Salisbury began manufacturing conservatories and orangeries over 28 years ago. After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in physics, rather than becoming a research scientist, David became a deep-sea diver working on commercial oil rigs. This challenging and financially rewarding work allowed him to travel the world and enjoy life. On returning to the UK, David decided to make another dramatic career change by joining the social services as a residential social worker caring for the mentally ill. It was whilst working in this environment that he developed an interest in carpentry, as this was a part of the rehabilitation process used to help some of the patients. His flair, creativity and attention to detail have always been the motivation behind everything we do. Over the years David has applied his experience across all areas of the business and particularly in the development of the company’s conservatory and orangery design software. This work is an ongoing challenge, to continuously improve our production processes in the endless pursuit of perfection. Just one more reason why David Salisbury can offer a design and build service like no other.
The design of your David Salisbury bespoke conservatory has to be right. The design will be exclusive to you, entirely bespoke and created for your home. It begins with a visit from one of our experienced designers to gather your detailed brief. Your designer will explore ideas with you, take inspiration from the architecture of your house, the way you live - and from you. They will produce a design concept to reflect your requirements.
We are well versed in the challenges that creating a bespoke hardwood timber conservatory presents; whether your home has fabulous views to be captured, important architectural details that need to be respected, or a tricky roof detail that must be incorporated, we know how to overcome the obstacles in order to produce both a practical and beautiful design.
We are rare in our industry in that we offer to take responsibility for every aspect of the planning and installation process. We will obtain all the appropriate legal consents on your behalf, (planning, listed building permission and building regulations), carry out any required ground and base works, then install your conservatory. All this under the guidance of one of our experienced Project Managers.
You will be seeking peace of mind during the installation, and our smooth and practiced working methods are designed to provide just that. Our aim is to anticipate your needs along the way and ensure you are happy and informed at every stage. Our conservatories are so well designed they are erected with surprising speed and little fuss and we ensure all areas of your home are carefully protected as required, and keep the installation area clean and tidy.
Our customers frequently congratulate us on our ever-polite and respectful site staff and our small army of Project Managers and Customer Service Representatives are on hand at all times to ensure you are well looked after.
Good customer service has been critical to our growth as a business. We carry out "spot check" customer perception surveys with our customers not just upon completion of a project but throughout the process too. We seek to harness our customers’ feedback at every step of the way and are always on the lookout for better and better ways to look after our customers.
Much of our reputation has been built on customer recommendations and referrals. We encourage our prospective customers to take advantage of two important suggestions: the first is to visit us at our factory in Somerset; the second is that we arrange a viewing of one of our completed conservatories.
David makes time where possible to meet with our customers in person when they visit us; our staff are friendly, efficient and helpful; and our manufacturing facility is second to none. We believe you can instantly "feel" what sort of company we are when you visit, and that you will sense our commitment to quality and to our customers: come and see for yourself!
Commissioning a conservatory or an orangery is a big decision and one to be made with due care. We believe that an important part of your decision-making process should be to visit an existing customer and receive a personal testimonial as to the quality of service we have provided them, along with seeing one of our beautiful installations "in the flesh". Our customers are exceptionally generous in their willingness to show prospective customers around. We encourage them to talk openly with you about working with us; we know that you will receive all the reassurance you need from hearing about their experiences first hand.
